Jim OwnensJIM OWENSMUSIC DIRECTOR

Jim joined us in September of 2015. He holds degrees from SIU-Carbondale and SIU-Edwardsville and is a freelance trombonist and keyboardist in St. Louis. He is active as a composer and arranger, and can be found on many Victoria Company recordings including his jazz duo recording with Brett Stamps, “Bad to the Bone”, and various recordings by Jim Manley’s Wild, Cool and Swingin' Orchestra. He performs with the Dave Dickey Big Band, The Jazz St. Louis Big Band, American Dollar, The Jaime Dollar Band, The Wild Cool and Swingin' Orchestra, the Jungle Dogs, and others. His past performance credits include The O'Jays, Temptations and Four Tops, Jack Jones, Steve Lawrence & Edie Gorme, Platters, Coasters, Drifters, Mary Wells and the St. Louis Symphony.
 
Jim’s day job is as a Senior Mortgage Lending Officer and he’s on the Board of Directors for the St. Louis Low Brass Collective and the Crestwood/Sunset Hills Chamber of Commerce. He and his wife, Alison, live in Kirkwood and have three grown children.
